NYERERE/MIKUMI 5 DAYS 4 NIGHTS

DAY1: ZANZIBAR/DAR ES SALAAM, MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK.

Depart Zanzibar with the first Ferry to Dar es Salaam.

After taking breakfast and briefing drive to Mikumi National Park with a hot lunch on the way.

Animals viewing on the way.

In the evening we will visit a Maasai village for cultural exchange.

Dinner and overnight in a lodge or campsite.

The park has a great variety of animals and most visitors come to this Park aiming to spot the Big 4 (No Rhinos in this park)

Lions survey their grassy kingdom while the zebra, wildebeest, impala and buffalo herds migrate across it. Giraffes forage in the isolated acacia stands that fringe the Mkata River, islets of shade favored also by Mikumi’s elephants. MkataFloodplain is perhaps the most reliable place in Tanzania for sightings of the powerful eland, the world’s largest antelope. The equally impressive greater kudu and sable antelope haunt the miombo-covered foothills of the mountains that rise from Park’s borders.

DAY2: FULL DAY IN MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK.

Today we have a full day to explore the park with picnic lunch boxes.

Dinner and overnight at the same camp or lodge.

DAY3: MIKUMI, NYERERE.

After breakfast at leisure and drive to Nyerere National park arriving for boat trip on Rufiji River.

Dinner and overnight in a camp/lodge in Nyerere National park.

DAY4: NYERERE NATIONAL PARK.

Early morning you will be picked up for animals viewing.

Predators such as Lions, leopards, crocodiles and preys such as the antelopes and buffalos live in the park. You can spot endangered black rhinos and it is hard to find East African wild dogs as well as hyenas. Cape buffaloes, Maasai giraffes, wildebeests and zebras live here too, the latter two are known by the great migration, and of course it is home to impalas, large numbers of Lichtenstein’s hartebeests, waterbucks and sable antelope in addition to elands and bushbucks.

DAY5: BUSH WALKING, ZANZIBAR/DAR ES SALAAM.

We will begin our day with a bush walking in the morning, come to the camp/lodge for brunch before driving to Dar es Salaam for overnight or Zanzibar.
